uniBank (Ghana) Limited is a caring bank. The Bank appreciates the contribution and support that it receives from the community that it operates in. And in return, it ensures that it gives back to society, some of its gains as a socially responsibility corporate entity. As a good corporate citizen, uniBank (Ghana) Limited, has never shirk its responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the development of society and therefore have undertaken many timely social intervention activities to assist the needy, vulnerable and the deprived in Ghana thus contributing our quota to the sustenance of the environment and the community at large.
Key Corporate Social Responsibility Objectives
- - To ensure that uniBank is seen as a socially responsible organization;
- - To support communities in which uniBank operates in with the needed help in cash or in kind.
- - Our ultimate desire is to use any corporate social responsibility activity as an opportunity to grow and perpetuate the uniBank brand.
What we believe
We believe that the continued trust and patronage of the people within the
community in which uniBank operates has contributed to our sustained growth and
profitability. uniBank views the community in which it operates as asset that is worth
investing in and nurturing since it in turn brings the bank business. uniBank’s
contribution in this area, thus, makes good business. We believe in upholding community
development projects that would allow uniBank to play a meaningful role in the communities
in which it operates. uniBank holds the belief that it depends on the community to conduct
its business. In this regard, our areas of focus shall be towards the promotion of;
- - Education;
- - Health and Sanitation;
- - Youth Development.
The fulfillment of our commitment towards assisting and supporting our community has resulted in uniBank’s interventions in the following events:
- - The JOY FM /uniBank Partnership to sponsorship the 15th Easter Soup Kitchen with an amount of GHS50,000 to provide well prepared balanced food, clothing, medical care and fun to over 20,000 deprived and needy street dwellers in Nima, Agbobloshie, Okaishie etc in the Greater Accra, popular known as ‘Kayaye’. uniBank thus became the first corporate entity to have sponsored that annual event with that sum of money;
- - The sponsorship of five visually impaired Children in partnership with The University of Ghana Medical School (In support of the Childhood Blindness Control Project) with an amount of GHS 8000. Visually impaired children are the nation’s future hope and uniBank’s intervention is a social responsibility that seeks to give hope to such unfortunate children and contribute to human resource development. It is estimated that every minute a child goes blind in the world, and in Ghana about 900,000 estimated; Again, it is estimated that 60 to 100 children present with blindness to Korle-Bu every year and most of these children will live in poverty. uniBank’s intervention is therefore humane and appropriate. uniBank pledges to annually support this Centre.
- - uniBank sponsored the H4P Crew (a gospel music group under the label, Spiritlyf Music) with an amount of GHS6,000 to fight Malaria through the medium of drama. This is another feather in the cap of uniBank’s to prevent malaria and its debilitating effect on health, productivity and socio-economic development of Ghana;
- The Marie Thereze Aouad Memorial Lopus Foundation has also received an amount of GHS2000 from uniBank (Ghana) Limited to support its core activities of educating and sensitizing Ghanaians on the high prevalence of Lopus and its negative effects in Ghana.
- - uniBank supported The Ghana @50 celebrations; Otumfuo Education Fund; Otumfuo Osei Tutu Fund; AVA Foundation; Foundation for Future Leaders; Harvest Praise; Marie Lousie Children’s Hospital, The Street Academy; Princess Marie Academy; amongst others.
- - uniBank annually opens its doors to numerous undergraduates (120) to do short-term attachment, thus, developing the youth with skills and on-the-job opportunities for national development.
uniBank (Ghana) Limited shall continue to be a caring bank and shall support of the needy, deprived and vulnerable in the society. Generally, accepting social responsibilities and contributing meaningfully to societal development is a call that uniBank is ready to respond to.
