Foreign Currency Accounts (FCA)

Foreign Exchange Accounts are funded completely from inward foreign currency remittances by way of wire and/or foreign cheque deposits. Funds are freely transferable from the account both within and outside the borders of Ghana . Cash deposits into Foreign Currency Accounts are accepted only when a certified Form T5 supports the deposit.

Foreign currency accounts are provided in three major currencies USD, GBP, and EURO.

Foreign Exchange Accounts (FEA)

There are marked restrictions on the operation of Foreign Exchange Accounts. This is because funds on the account are typically sourced internally from normal cash lodgments or credits from other Foreign Exchange Accounts of other Banks. Transfers from such accounts to external destinations are restricted; as they need to be supported by Bank of Ghana approved documentation.

Letters of Credit

Letters of credit facilities are granted for the importation of goods either Sight L/C or Deferred L/C. Pre-shipment facility is available for customers in the export sector.

The facility is granted preferably against a letter of credit.
