Dr. Kwabena Duffuor II has been appointed CEO of uniBank (Ghana) Limited effective 1st June, 2017.
Until his appointment as the CEO of uniBank (Ghana) Limited, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor II, who holds a PH.D in Finance and M.Sc. in Banking and International Finance from the Cass Business School, United Kingdom, worked with Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited as a Credit Analyst (in charge of local corporates, Origination and Client Coverage); Ghana International Bank Plc. London (Treasury Dept.); Star Assurance Company Limited as Underwriter Trainee and in uniBank as the Chief Operating Officer.
Dr. Duffuor II, then as the Executive Director and COO had been instrumental in the steady rise in the fortunes of uniBank; having assisted the then Managing Director in leading the management and the bank to attain its current enviable position within the banking sector. He is largely credited for his efforts in transforming uniBank from a second tier bank to a tier one status boasting as one of the biggest in terms of assets, deposits, loans and profitability in the industry. Under his leadership, uniBank received a number of awards at the Ghana Banking Awards and has been accredited as the 6th most prestigious company by the Ghana Club 100.
His disposition towards business has already been underscored by some significant business strides making him prime to surge uniBank to greater heights.
His in-depth knowledge of the business world necessitated the opening of global business hubs in Dubai and London to position the bank to advance expedient business enclaves that enable Ghanaians living abroad to open, manage and monitor their accounts in Ghana.
As one of the youngest successful entrepreneurs, Kwabena has performed oversight responsibilities driving uniBank’s rapid branch expansion from 34 to a significant 55 branches across the regions of Ghana, a remarkable achievement towards the attainment of financial inclusion in the country.
Dr. Kwabena Duffuor II, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, currently serves on many Boards including uniBank (Ghana) Limited, Prime Insurance Company Limited; Alban Logistics; Apex Capital Group and uniSecurities Ltd.
